Aashish Chanana is an award-winning film director interested in raising important global issues in his work. His films showcase the realities of controversial phenomenas, such as terrorism and human trafficking, capturing raw stories and making them into highly engaging visual narratives.
He designed the first electric car in India while still in high school, for which he won an award from the President of India. Aashish was offered prestigious scholarships from Columbia University (New York), Loughborough (London) and Toyota (Japan) for automobile engineering. However, his creativity and passion for filmmaking led him to take on varied roles in film production.
Enjoying his role as aDirector and CEO at Media Factory International, Aashish has had a broad experience in every aspect of film production.
Taking on the roles of director, producer, DP, editor and animatortaught Aashish that filmmaking is about constantly learning from others and working as a team.
The list of his feature films include AFREEN, OBSESSIONS, TEMPTATIONS, and DREAMS to name a few. Aashish’s work has been nominated and won awards including national awards from all over the world. Film festivals, such as the Mediterranean Film festival at Cannes (France), Madrid International Film Festival (Spain), The Moondance Film Festival (USA), Universal International Film Festival (USA) and many more.
At Aashish’s film studio, he produced and directed over 2500 hours of content, created commercials and directed and produced music videos, animation features and supervised visual effects for some of the biggest names both in the Bollywood and Hollywood industry.
Powered by a fearless drive to tell meaningful stories - both his films - the much acclaimed, “AFREEN”& with his forthcoming film, “EMILY” are Director Aashish Chanana’s contributions towards creating awareness, which he feels is a dedicated effort to shape opinions and to bring focus to what makes the world we live in, a better place to live.
